My Ecstatic Habits: The Daily Rituals That Rewired My Health and Happiness

June 20, 20254 min read

Three years ago, I was exhausted—physically, emotionally, spiritually. I was pregnant with my fifth child, juggling a nonprofit, homeschooling, homemaking, and the weight of being everything to everyone... except myself.

So I started small.

A locked-door bath. Alone. That was my quiet rebellion. It cracked open the door to a self-devotion revolution—what I now call my Ecstatic Habits. These are the stacked, sacred rituals that have rewired my nervous system, helped me lose weight, balanced my hormones, and rebuilt my self-worth.

Let me walk you through them...

☕ The Fat-and-Protein Bomb That Changed My Mornings

The first thing I consume is packed with nourishment—not just for my body, but for my blood sugar and brain chemistry. I skip the sugary, carb-heavy breakfast bomb that most of America serves up and opt for something smarter.

My morning drink? A decaf coffee, hot cacao, or tea with:

  • Collagen or bone broth protein powder

  • Coconut oil or ghee

  • Heavy whipping cream or full-fat canned coconut milk

That combo is a bomb—a fat-and-protein bomb that fuels my brain and keeps me off the blood sugar rollercoaster. I lost several pounds just by ditching the sugar-loaded breakfasts and adding this.

Instead of cereal or oatmeal, I reach for:

  • Eggs

  • Sweet potatoes

  • Grain-free nut and seed granola with almond milk

Breakfast has been hijacked by Big Cereal. I’m taking it back.

🌗 12/12 Fasting + Screen Detox

I fast 12 hours a day—nothing fancy. Just a break between dinner and breakfast. No late-night snacking. It gives my body time to digest, repair, restore.

And I do the same with screens.

12 hours on, 12 hours off. No phone, no laptop, no blue light after 8:30 PM. When I started, I literally set a parental lock on myself like a toddler. I’ve slipped lately (hey, building a biz), but I know the difference when I hold that boundary.

Screens mess with our circadian rhythms—and our sanity.

🌞 Light, Ground, Regulate

Every morning, I step outside barefoot and greet the sun. Grounding + morning sunlight is free medicine. In the evening, I do the same—watch the light fade. It helps recalibrate my circadian rhythm and soothes my sleep-deprived nervous system.

Speaking of sleep...

😴 My Sleep Stack

I used to be an insomniac—since my teens. Now? I sleep like a rock. Why? Because I ritualized my sleep:

  • Screens off by 8:30 PM

  • Cool bedroom temps

  • No tech in the room

  • Dimming lights after sunset

  • No food 2–3 hours before bed

I’ll share the full sleep episode soon, but know this: sleep hygiene is a revolution. And it’s one you can start tonight.

✨ Self-Adorning as Self-Respect

After my daily facial and lymphatic massage (yes, daily—mama’s worth it), I anoint myself in essential oils based on my mood—spicy, earthy, sensual. Then I get dressed—not just “throw on whatever’s clean” dressed. Even on housework days, it’s jeans and a tee I feel good in. If I’m recording or coaching? I dress like a goddess in her purpose. A little jewelry. Sometimes a smidge of makeup. Not for anyone else. For me.

It’s not silly. It's not extravagant. It’s medicine.

This tiny habit lifts my confidence and softens my edges. When I look like I give a damn, I feel like I do too.

💰 Loving My Money

Every day, I do one positive thing for my money. Cancel a subscription. Check my accounts. Send an invoice. Transfer $5 to savings. Whatever it is, I touch in with my money—not in stress, but in love. Money is energy. And when you ignore it, it ignores you back.

Daily devotion to your money = quantum shift.

🌹 Rose, Thorn & Bud: Our Family Manifestation Practice

Every night, my kids and I sit down and share:

  • The Rose – What we’re grateful for

  • The Thorn – What challenged us and what we learned

  • The Bud – What we hope for tomorrow

We speak our dreams aloud, like bedtime spells. What started as “what do you want to dream about?” became a full-on manifestation practice. And the ripple effect has been wild. Life has shifted. Expanded. Blossomed.

Gratitude + vision = magic.

🌿 Final Thoughts

None of this happened overnight. These habits were layered slowly, over years. But now? They're as second nature as brushing my teeth (which, by the way, wasn’t always “normal” either—hello, marketing revolution).

This is your invitation. Not to do it all. But to start one thing. Stack it. Let it grow. Let it change you.
